Vice President urges private sector and NGOs to empower youth through skills training

Vice President, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu today advised young people to strive with determination to gain knowledge and expertise in their chosen fields to compete and succeed.

Addressing the trainees of various professional courses at Swarna Bharat Trust, Vijayawada, he asked them to dream big and work with discipline and dedication in a systematic manner to achieve their goals.

Emphasizing that the government alone will not be able to provide employment to young people, he called on the private sector and NGOs to empower young people by providing them with vocational training and imparting the necessary skills to enable them to become self-employed or to find a job.

Observing the importance of channeling youth energies towards nation building, he said, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, places great importance on youth training and empowerment. He said a separate Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship has been set up to realize the vision of “Skilled India”.

The Vice President also advised the interns to read the lives of great men and women and be inspired by them. At the same time, they must imbibe good values ​​and develop empathy for others. He said the attitude of “sharing and caring” is at the heart of Indian culture.

Emphasizing the need to protect and preserve Indian culture, Shri Naidu advised young people to return to their roots. Suggesting that they avoid junk food and have a healthy diet, he said engaging in regular physical activity like yoga is equally important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
