The Fiji National University (FNU) College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS) has launched four new medical programs and short courses.

The programs are Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology Case Management in Dental Practice, which will be offered online, Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Public Health, Certificate in Basic Health Professions Studies (Level 4) and response to gender-based violence (GBV) in the Pacific. : Foundation of Health Care Practice.

CMNHS Dean Dr. William May acknowledged the support of industry stakeholders in the development of the programs.

“I believe that the enrichment of programs is determined by industry participation. We are here today, and I thank you for your good work when you were consulted on the programs to be developed to allow us to reach this stage,” said Dr May.

“As a higher education institute, it is crucial that we engage with our stakeholders before a program is approved. This ensures that our students receive relevant, industry-focused learning and teaching that prepares them to be competent graduates contributing to the workforce.

“One of the new courses, the Certificate in Health Professions Foundation Studies (Level 4) program, is aimed at 13th grade students who want to pursue a career in any health-related field.”

Students interested in taking TVET courses at FNU can apply now for one of the 4,600 internships available through the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Services (TSLS).

Eligible students must obtain a Grade 12 Pass, Certificate I, Certificate II, or obtain a Final Offer Letter for any Level III, Level IV Certificate or Level 5 Diploma programs offered at FNU.

FNU is now accepting applications for studies in Semester 1, 2023.

Open Day 2022

Prospective students can also attend the University’s annual Open Day to experience first-hand the academic and career paths they could pursue at the national institution.

The Open Day will be held at Nasinu Campus, Natabua Campus in Lautoka and Naduna Campus in Labasa on Friday October 21 and Saturday October 22 at Nasinu Campus only.
