The Ogun state government said it has started the process of streamlining the skills acquisition program as well as technical and vocational education across the state.

The Governor’s Special Advisor for Technical and Vocational Education, Professor Joseph Odemuyiwa, according to a statement signed by the Press Secretary, Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Training (OGUNTIVET), said the move would allow individuals, philanthropists, religious organizations, government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), among others, to create the necessary preconditions for the establishment of such programs.

Odemuyiwa said this step would address a plethora of skills and vocational training programs and centers that fall under Technical and Vocational Training (TVET), to achieve the set goals and objectives.

He added that there should be proof of competence in the form of a certificate issued or approved by the government, whenever a skills acquisition program is organised.

The special adviser said the government has put in place transparent measures to ensure that TVET programs are delivered in a qualitative manner across the state, advising that any empowerment training should be done in partnership with government agencies. competent.
