VIJAYAWADA: The National Program on Technology-Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a joint initiative of IIT and IISc, on Friday launched several new free courses for the July-December semester, including electric vehicles, internet of things, business and sustainable development on the SWAYAM platform to give everyone the opportunity to learn from anywhere and anytime.
The faculty includes experts from IITs and IISc. The registration deadline for the first series of NPTEL courses is August 2.
Highlighting the unique features, Prof. Vignesh Muthuvijayan, NPTEL Coordinator at IIT Madras said, “SWAYAM-NPTEL is currently working with over 4,000 engineering, arts, science, business and management education institutions across the country. . Some of the certification courses through the MOOCs format. include data science for engineers, programming in Python, C, C++, introduction to machine learning, soft skills, project planning and control, among others. Overall, there are currently 51 subject areas in 12 disciplines.
A nominal fee is for the proctored physical examination for certification.
NPTEL has received over 1.4 crore registrations to date. He said that NPTEL pioneered the concept of “domain certification”.
