He said the federal government’s efforts for research development are encouraging, while asking for more funding from the institute to execute more capital projects.
3 “The federal government is doing its best because we have achieved a lot in terms of infrastructure development, among other successes in this institute.
4 “But there is still room for improvement.
5 The government should increase funding.
6 “Increased funding will allow us to accomplish more and take the institute to the next level of development,” he said.
seven Umar also called for the construction of more access roads to communities to boost production.
8 “We call on the government to improve infrastructure provision including road construction and power supply for quality service delivery,” he added.
9 The Executive Director also identified climate change and security challenges, among others, as some of the issues affecting research activities.
ten Furthermore, he urged Nigerians to embrace dry season rice cultivation given its importance for human and societal development.
11 “They should approach dry season rice cultivation with utmost sincerity.
12 “As the benefits of dry season rice cultivation outweigh rainy season rice cultivation,” he added.
