About the Opportunity
As the Senior Research Development OfficerYou will play a key role in supporting the performance of research funding at the University by providing strategic advice to researchers to develop high quality and successful research grant applications, developing and delivering local research activities research development in partnership with faculties and schools, and supporting the development of processes and systems for identifying research opportunities for researchers to improve funding success.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- report to the head of research development (health and medicine)
- manage relationships and communication with faculties and schools, the various research portfolio teams and the research operations teams / research pipeline and pre-award
- provide strategic advice to help researchers secure competitive research funding and build research reputation
- support the development of systematic mechanisms for identifying research opportunities for researchers
- manage the provision of research development services and resources provided by the pipeline and pre-award team
- contribute to the drafting and review of policy and procedure documents and operational protocols
About you
- University degree in a relevant field, such as health, medical sciences or biology
- experience in a research-related role and/or in the higher education sector
- knowledge of government policies regarding research funding and processes related to identifying, securing and managing funding
- understanding of strategy and policy development, policy planning and review, and implementation
- strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide researchers with sound strategic advice on research development
- analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills with experience in assessing complex issues to make informed judgment.
