ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided on Sunday to initiate strategic reforms in Pakistan’s health care research and development to help patients with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

This was announced by the prime minister’s strategic reform chief, Salman Sufi, in a statement on Sunday.

Salman Sufi said initially that organizations engaged in manufacturing cerebral palsy prostheses will be helped and their numbers will be increased.

He said measures such as internationally renowned music therapy will be introduced to educate and train cerebral palsy patients. He said special wheelchairs for cerebral palsy patients and devices to assist other disabled citizens will be made in Pakistan at low cost so that they are accessible to the general public.

Salman Sufi said the government will also take steps to provide subsidized essential items to people with disabilities for their mobility.
